When Do We Worship?

Where Are We Located?

Title of page is About Us

We offer...

...an open, family-friendly congregation with members from all age groups described more fully in about us.

We are building a church community committed to reaching out to share God's love and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  As we look forward to the future, we are determined to seize the same vision and take the same leap of faith that first made possible our mission here on the east side of Evansville.

The main thrust of out existence is to know God.  Our mission is three fold:  To love and serve the Lord, to share our faith, and to live by His Word.

We would love to have you be a part of our congregation.  Please feel free to speak to Pastor Ken Townsend or to contact the church office if you would like more information about who we are or how to get involved.

Our History
St. John's East has a rich history which began on April 1, 1850, when St. John's Evangelical Church was organized on Eighth Street and Chandler Avenue in Evansville.  The church eventually moved to downtown.  As Evansville began to grow to the east, a five-acre tract of land was bought on Outer Lincoln Avenue.  On November 13, 1960, St. John's East was completed and dedicated. We remained a part of St. John's until 1993 when we became a church in our own right.  We wished to retain our heritage by continuing with the name of St. John's East.
